Welcome

Welcome to The Cavalier Blog!

This blog has been created to keep family and friends up to date on how dad is doing.  Dad has COPD and was placed on hospice just over a month ago.  It is hard to watch such a kind dear man struggle to breath.  Please feel free to add a comment to the blog, either a memory you wish to share with everyone or a message we can share with him.

For those of you who don't know or don't remember dad was a member of The Cavalier Club.  This was a car club that was well respected in the State of Utah.  Periodically I will dig out an article that was written about the club and share it with everyone.

Dad had bad night last night.  They had to call the hospice nurse at 4:30 am because dad couldn't breath.  After the nurse and Kelli arrived they were able to help him relax enough to catch what little breath he could find. Needless to say he was pretty tired today.

I have really, really great memories of your dad, Uncle Gary. he always took time to say hi and talk with me when we were little. i remember he was just so "cool". i regret not crossing the street more when grandma and grandpa were there. time goes so fast.. please tell him hello for me and that i love him. thanks for always taking time out for me, and always being so kind. we will be praying for him. Love, Leilani

  4. It breaks my heart to see such a stong loving person go through so much pain. Grandpa is one of the best men I know and I love him VERY much. I wish I could have done more over the years and spent more time with him. I look up to Grandpa in so many ways and I will always admire the man he is. He is my prayers. I love you Grandpa.

  5. This is from Val---I think it is a wonderful idea, so many of us would love to stop by but do not want to ware him out and others may not so they can remember him in better health. But we do love him and are thankful for the times that he has been apart of our lives he is a very sweet person and I will miss the warmth of his smile and the joy he always brought with him. The waves and smiles as you went by the house. He is in my prayes along with the family may YOU all find peace and comfort together and in your own lives... I love you all and may this be a very special time for you. LOVE VAL

  6. from a desendent of this great cavalier (Garrett)

I can only hope that things would get better for this cavalier, but we all know that he is struggling on just trying to breath. as Kelly mentions he stubborn. when i was there he would remove the oxygen for a long period of time, i think he is trying to show that he is tough and can manage with out if he wanted to. but bless his heart having help to breath is better for him. i have learned everything for succeeding in this life from him and enjoyed every monent. recalling hunting and fishing trips. the time racing with him behind me, then seeing him race himself. i worked a coouple of jobs with him were you could tell he had a commanding presents with every one there. over these last few years i have found out more about this cavalier and what he and his club did. these had to be some great years to live. dad had raised all of us as a family and taught all of us to care of family. kelly my heart goes out to you for all you have done these last couple of years, you have done allot to ensure he is taken care of. It was great to see that Jerry was able to move in and help. love you all thank you.
